Texas Parks and Wildlife is a great site for information about the "natural state of Texas" with park info and weather reports from around the state, it is invaluable when planning a visit. We have selected some of our favorite areas out if their listings. |

Balmorhea Springs: There is nothing quite like a spring in the desert, and Balmorhea is a beautiful example. The cabins are comfortable, the spring water is refreshing and the newly completed desert wetland exhibit is amazing. |

Big Bend: One of the largest National Parks in the country. Big Bend is also one of the most diverse areas in the state. From the Rio Grande wetlands to the Chisos Mountains, this huge park offers something for everyone. We suggest visiting in the early spring for the best weather. |

Ft. Davis: If you liked Balmorhea and Big Bend, you'll love Ft. Davis. Great vistas and historic surroundings provide a backdrop that is hard to beat. As long as you're there, head on down the road to Marfa and see the mysterious Marfa Lights. Unexplained for centuries and the lights appear almost every night. Weird, but a lot of fun! |

One of our favorite spots year round is San Antonio, but this is especially true during the Christmas Season. The Riverwalk is beautifully decorated and the Nativity that is performed nightly in River Center is a great blend of religious and cultural aspects of San Antonio. |
